St. John's Episcopal

St. John's Concert Series returns for its 2021-22 season following a pandemic hiatus. In keeping with our custom, we will take a freewill offering at the concert in lieu of selling tickets. We recommend a donation of $20 per person ($10 for students and seniors).

In keeping with St. John's | San Juan's current policies, all patrons are strongly encouraged to wear masks at all times.

New for this season is a livestream option for many of our concerts. By making a freewill donation using Eventbrite (with recommended donations the same as attending in person), you will be able to watch the concert streamed online live, and attend from the comfort of your own home (or wherever you are in the world). Links for streaming concerts can be found below.

Thank you for joining us this year, and we look forward to welcoming you back to St. John's Concert Series!

Dr. Douglas Cleveland performs the dedicatory recital on the 3,800-pipe Schlicker Organ in St. John's Episcopal Church, Olympia.

Built in 1967, the organ was for decades used for worship and notable recitals at Plymouth Congregational Church, Seattle.

Now the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina, WA., Cleveland has served on the organ faculties of St. Olaf College, Northwestern University and the University of Washington.

An Olympia native, Cleveland took his first organ lessons from the late Jane Edge, then the St. John's organist.   He studied at the Eastman School of Music, Indiana University and Oxford University.   He has performed at Notre Dame-Paris, Westminster Abbey and the Washington National Cathedral, among dozens of other venues nationally and internationally.
